The following are some of his steps to achieving personal success in anything you do that was posted in Yahoo Finances from Stacy Curtin in Newsmakers. The following are some of his steps to achieving personal success in anything you do that was posted in Yahoo Finances from Stacy Curtin in Newsmakers. I hope you can use these to help benefit your life in so many ways. Enjoy!!
#1 Give Your Talents Until They Can’t Live Without It
“Wake up in the morning and find out what you want to give as opposed to what you want to get,” he says. “Through this practice of becoming a good giver you become a good getter.”
Simmons gives examples of many of his former selfless, tireless and unpaid interns that went on to greatness, including Sean Combs, Kevin Liles, and Julie Greenwald, recently named COO of Atlantic Records Group.
“Those who focus on being good servants usually attract the most in the end,” he says.
Basically, offer your talents and skills for free and the rewards will find you.
#2 Relentlessly Pursue Your Goals Without Appearing Needy
Simmons’ law of attraction says: “when you chase things, they will always run from you.”
This principle goes hand-in-hand with principle number one by virtue of the more you give, the more good that will just find you.
#3 If You Don’t Love it, Leave it Alone
This is not only the idea that you should do what you love and a wealth of richness will follow, but the idea that you should only do things you are “karmically” comfortable doing.
“People can sell anything,” from bombs to drugs, he says, even though there are very serious ramifications to those actions. “I want to stress that making money just for the sake of getting paid is a pedestrian activity that you can rise above.”
If you don’t love it, don’t do it.
#4 Let Go of the Results
“You really have no control over the results, you have control over the action," he says. “So make sure you perform your action and your duty well.”
In the accompanying clip, he explains that he has no recollection of his very first paycheck, but says he certainly does remember making his first good record.
“All I could think is ‘when my friends hear this record’ it will make them so happy,” he reminisces. “Do things you love. Do things that you have faith will make other people happy and that will give back what you give them.”
#5 Get Open
“You want to always be open, creative and fluid as possible, and never become rigid, old or tight,” he writes, encouraging readers to let loose and lower your defenses.
And if you're thinking these principles are easy for someone worth millions to say, Aaron asks him about that too in the accompanying clip.
The Joy of Giving
Simmons' list of his successes are deep but the endeavors most important to him may be those that go along with his first principle listed above. The idea of being a “good giver.”
To Approve Or To Dismiss Is The Question?
To Approve Or To Dismiss Is The Question?
After reading this case study, I recognize this as a performance management situation and need to determine by trouble shooting ways in how to identify the problem in order to either rectify the situation or take further disciplinary actions. My first attempts into correcting the employee and his performance is by addressing this issue with him. I would schedule a counseling meeting with him in person that would establish an improvement strategy. During the meeting, I would recognize and thank the employee for his services to the company over the past two years and that we would like to continue, nurture, and see him grow. Then I would bring to his attention the recent complaints and his substandard level performance. I would explain to him that we would like to help and identify the issue. After the counseling meeting I would summarize the meeting and give the employee his first written notification. If the employee doesn’t agree with the results form the counseling meeting he can appeal it and investigate it more in depth. If the employee continues after 30 days to continue with his sub par performance, I would then inform the employee that I would place him on ninety day probation. If the employee still does not change their attitude, behavior and performance
after the probationary period, I would advise the employee to stay home to re- think his situation and reassess his priorities and professional commitments at the company. I would let him know that he would be instructed to go home with or without pay. During and after the employee has returned back to work is when I and the employee would determine if he has changed his outlook and has had an attitude adjustment or not. I would instruct and deliver to the employee at this stage with a professional written report for the company and to have for his records. If the employee still doesn’t agree, the next time he would be terminated

Four Media Technologies
Four Media Technologies Summary
Four media technologies I would like to recognize within mass media are internet, television, newspaper and radio. Each of these technologies is used for different purposes and is intended for different audiences.
The first media technology is the radio. The radio’s purpose is to entertain, share and inform. The radio is commonly effective during driving vehicles, and becoming more popular on the internet for advertisements. The radio is for the informative listener. The radio is a directed towards the listening audience. The writing style for radio has to keep the audience engaged. In radio, the repeating of words and phrases is used frequently especially for advertising. Radio uses broad concepts along with repeating words and phrases in order to be remembered especially when there are no tangible images through radio. The images in radio need to be created through words, and sound. The thing about radio is that there is no second chances so the point of the message has to made right then and there. In radio, messages are designed to be written short and in an active voice and all important and vital information in the start of the radio message. Radio has also been used on the web more frequently due to the increase use of internet.
The internet is another media technology which is made up of interconnected computers that share and transfer data from one to another. This media technology is widely used for businesses, personal, government and education. The internet is used for several purposes such as educational, informational, persuasive and entertainment. The internet is becoming a media source to use for access to social media tools like Facebook, Myspace, Twitter and other social media platforms. The internet, also known for accessing the World Wide Web or the information highway connects at for the most instantaneously at real time. This provides messages to be sent faster and reach the receiver in order to encode the message. The result of this has changed the way we listen, receive and report all over the globe. Access is something we all have today and can control what information we would like to receive. The kind of audience you would find on the internet is movie lovers, gossip seekers, working adults just to name a few.
The Television is used for persuading or persuasive media. This media technology is the most popular form of mass communication and also the most expensive. This persuasiveness can be in form of entertainment programs, commercials, and infomercials. You will find an audience that seeks information, shops, votes, and make decisions within this area. You will advertise on television ads where kids or at home and visually stimulated. Kids influence parents, adults to purchase these toys. In television, the writing style is geared towards the visual and audio audience. Television uses both words and pictures together to be effective. For example, news release combines both images and writing based around images called VNR or Video News Releases. This tool is and has been major in introducing a product and making major announcements. Media kits are
another tool used for television. For example, they can be used for the release of new upcoming shows.
The Newspaper is timely information that can be unusual or exceptional. Newspapers presents facts of what’s happening locally, nationally and global. The newspaper is the most cost effective forms of media technology and uses images and key phrases to capture their audience. Newspaper can not only be informative, but persuasive through its content and images. For example, pictures like Coca Cola with condensation dripping down the can with words that say awwww during the hot summer can be persuasive. Another example is voters reading up on facts during election time. The content is very important as the writer of the content. Some news can be delivered in a subjective point of view. The result can persuade a reader to feel a certain way to sway towards one side. A reader can go reread information in the newspaper that can reinstate their feelings and facts on a subject or can re view and an ad over and over again. Media technologies such as television and radio cannot do that. Once the commercial or program is gone, it’s gone until the rerun commercial or show comes on again. The newspaper is one of the oldest mediums where content and images is king.
Several of the media technologies can be interchanged or intertwined in terms of their purpose and how to reach out to different segmented audiences. Having an understanding of who, what, where and how will determine which media technology will be the most effective to use.

Why Purpose, Audience, Content and Information? HMMM!
When you are writing an effective blog there are important elements that should be present and visible throughout the process. Understanding a blog and its purpose, audience, along with its content or information and design should never be overlooked.
Keeping your readers on the page and keeping them to come back is based upon these particular elements. First, understanding the purpose of the blog by identifying what is your blog about. These topics can range from personal, profit or non - earning, educational, and/or entertaining. Second, finding your audience needs and understanding their interests. Writing on a subject that bears no relevance or having lack of knowledge on the subject can lose credibility and value with your audience. Third, the content should be always matching the purpose and be well organized. The information or content should always be current and appropriate to the audience. The most important rule in content is that before posting it all should be spellchecked, no matter what. Grammatical errors are just as important as the information being delivered. Fourth, the design of the blog should be consistent, friendly and have clarity. This means avoiding large and bold or small fonts, placing important information at the top, and creating a uniform color that is easy on the eyes are all considered in the design aspects.
Using each of these elements in a blog should be considered and taken under consideration in order to create an effective blog.
